Hydrogen monitoring
Hydrogen as an energy store
In addition to the classical use of hydrogen for industrial processes in refineries and for the production of fertilizers, plastics and solvents, is the role of hydrogen as an energy storage increasingly important. With the increased penetration of renewable energies, hydrogen is used as a buffer to reconvert him later to energy in fuel cells or engines. In the generation and storage of an accurate and reliable hydrogen monitoring is necessary to detect possible leaks at an early stage and to fix them.
Hydrogen sensors in the offshore wind farm
The most recent sample application is the use in an offshore wind farm in the North Sea in cooperation with BU Industrial of Eltek Valere Deutschland GmbH, a leading provider of uninterruptible power supply systems. The auxiliary power supply of the installation is monitored with an explosion-proof ATEX-certified system in a battery cabinet in accordance with EU directive and housing protection class IP65. This is a field of application which imposes high demands on the system’s reliability.
Optimal solution
Our sensors can be measured reliably, the hydrogen concentration in the LEL range. For use in hazardous areas, we offer an explosion-proof sensor with EC-type examination certificate according to ATEX.
MF420-Ex-2.1 see product |
The measuring system MF420-Ex 2.1 is approved for operation in hazardous areas of zone 1 and zone 2 and has an EC-type examination certificate according to ATEX-Directive. | |
Application: | Workplace monitoring; Monitoring of ambient air in an explosive atmosphere |
